HCG

Human chorionic gonadotropin (HCG) is a glycoprotein hormone secreted by the trophoblast tissue of the placenta. Its level is determined in urine and in serum. Such tests should always be performed in women of childbearing age who have acute pain in the abdomen. Qualitative analysis for chorionic gonadotropin is carried out easily and quickly, it is a convenient screening test. A positive test indicates the presence of pregnancy.

In the blood, hCG appears 6-10 days after fertilization, and therefore is one of the earliest markers of pregnancy. The concentration of the hormone increases until the end of the first trimester, and then decreases.

An increase in the concentration of hCG is observed with normal uterine pregnancy and with ectopic pregnancy. More than 95% of women with ectopic pregnancy have a positive HCG result.

The sensitivity of the test for localization of pregnancy is low. Nevertheless, the normal increase in the hormone is mainly indicative of uterine pregnancy, and a lower increase is about ectopic (in ectopic pregnancy, in most cases, the content of hCG does not exceed 3000 mU / ml).

The most accurate quantitative test currently available is the radioimmunoassay for determining the fraction of human chorionic gonadotropin (P-HCG). A negative result of radioimmunoassay for P-HCG excludes pregnancy with a probability of more than 99%. In rare cases, in women with an ectopic pregnancy screening test, the test for hCG is negative, although in a quantitative analysis they have an elevated P-HCG level.

Exceeding the increase in the concentration of hCG may indicate the presence of trisomy in the fetus of 21 – Down’s Syndrome and Edwards Syndrome. In view of this, the HG study is used as a method of mass prenatal screening in the second trimester of pregnancy.

Increased serum concentrations in men may indicate malignant growth in testicles (seminoma).

Increased concentration in non-pregnant women may be a sign of malignant growth in the ovaries. The greatest content of the hormone in the blood is noted with chorionepithelioma.

Reduction in concentration is observed with ectopic pregnancy and the threat of miscarriage.

How Gonadotropin Works

The action on the body of this substance completely replicates the luteinizing hormone. Like him, HCG by signaling through the pituitary gland into the testicles, gives the command to increase the production of testosterone. In addition to this very important function, this substance leads to such positive results:

  • Improves the quality of sperm;
  • The effect of the expression of secondary sexual characteristics increases (in men and women equally);
  • Progesterone production increases (in women);
  • Accelerates the maturation of the egg, the placenta is formed in a timely manner.

In the natural environment, the Chorionic Gonadotropin reaches the required amount by regulating feedback in the chain, where the hypothalamus, pituitary gland and testicles simultaneously interact. With a lack of this substance in the human body, the size of the testicles decreases, and the level of the natural function decreases.

With the artificial introduction of synthetic testosterone (or its analogue), the system consisting of the hypothalamus-pituitary-testicle gets used to the fact that its hormones (gonadoliberin and gonadotropin) do not need to be developed. As a result, after a while, the main function of the testicles is lost, and they become smaller in size.

How Chorionic Gonadotropin is Used in Bodybuilding

Athletes who use testosterone for training should use human gonadotropin as a preventive measure to prevent unwanted consequences, which can result in testicular atrophy. This is the main function of this substance.

Some inexperienced sportsmen involved in bodybuilding use Chorionic Gonadotropin as a drug that stimulates the increase in muscle mass, combining it with other steroids. The reason for making such decisions is his ability to increase the production of testosterone. In addition, the use of this substance during the “drying” is practiced, in order to preserve the mass of muscles with a lack of calories in the diet.

In fact, the use of HCG in bodybuilding training for the purpose of anabolic effects, does not have any effect. On the contrary, the abuse of this drug can cause a deterioration in health. If we compare the degree of exposure of this substance to the production of testosterone in comparison with the synthetic forms of the hormone, then it is much lower. At the same time, side effects are much more pronounced.

After such information, the question naturally arises – why then use Horionic Gonadotropin?
Here we need to recall the main purpose of the drug during the application of anabolic steroids – prevention of testicular atrophy.

If gonadotropin is used for a prophylactic course that reduces the risk of reducing the size of the testicles, then dosage is needed significantly less than achieving the effect obtained from it, as from the anabolic. In this case, the risks associated with the deterioration of well-being are minimal, and the benefit from using the substance is maximal.

In addition, this drug softens and eliminates some of the effects of using anabolic drugs. Gonadotropin can really hold your muscles well during “drying”. If steroids courses have a fairly long period, HCG is indispensable as a drug that prevents the loss of functional abilities of the axis based on the hypothalamus, pituitary gland and testicles. As a post-course therapy, gonadotrophin is not among the recommended drugs.

What is the procedure for receiving the Chorionic Gonadotropin during and after the course?

HCG is purchased in pharmacies without a prescription. Injections have both subcutaneous type of injection, and intramuscular. The dry substance of the drug is diluted directly in the ampoule with the help of a special liquid sold with the drug. It is best to take intramuscular injections, then they dissolve with sufficient speed. The substance “works” in the body for five to six days.

Use of HCG for long courses that allow for increased dosages

If AAS is used more than the standard time, or if the recommended dose of steroid intake is exceeded, gonadotropin is taken at a frequency of at least two times per week and single doses of 250 to 500 IU. In the case when this substance was not used during such intensive courses, its use is mandatory in post-course therapy, during which doses are prescribed significantly more by volume – up to 2000 IU. The frequency of injections with this option – once every two days with a duration of three weeks.

How to apply gonadotropin with an “eternal course”

Many professional-level athletes use anabolic steroids almost all the time, so it is recommended to take the drug in a constant mode. The only thing that must be observed is periodic breaks to one or two weeks after every five weeks of admission.

What side effects can occur after taking hCG

Like every medical preparation, Chorionic Gonadotropin has its side effects, the main ones of which are listed below:

  • The production of gonadotropin-releasing hormone is suppressed;
  • The functioning of the system consisting of the hypothalamus, pituitary gland and testicles is disrupted;
  • Manifestations of gynecomastia;
  • Acne appears;
  • The amount of hair on the body increases;
  • The effect of masculinization in women is increasing;
  • The size of the prostate increases, etc.

What reviews are most common about HCG

most cases, reviews of bodybuilders using it during post-course therapy, as well as when taking long and “heavy” courses of anabolic steroids, are quite positive. Although gonadotropin can be taken by women, it is most effective for men, because it does not eliminate the effect of aromatization. Negative reviews of this drug is almost never found, as its use, as anabolic, is not recommended. As a rule, negative reviews are written by those people who are trying to increase 10 kg of muscles in one course and lose weight at the same time.
The counterfeit of the drug was not noticed, since its sale is not limited.
